Sailing Break at the Top of the Bay
Wine Travel Itinerary Maryland's Eastern Shore
Presented by North Bay B&B, Hosts Bob and Pam Appleton
Our sailing friendly B&B is located at the top of the Chesapeake Bay. North B&B is an expression of our love of waterside living, fondness for a genteel, unhurried lifestyle, and the desire to share the blessings of the Chesapeake Bay. As well we love the culinary arts and strive to give new meaning to the second "B".
Many times we host sailing groups where someone is not a"sailor" and would prefer to say land bound. For those we recommend this day of wine travel on the days of Thursday through Sunday. Within 25 minutes of our B&B is Dove Valley Winery. This is a short journey through picturesque Mennonite country to the artsy and funky Dove Valley Winery whose tasting room is open 11 am to 6pm. After this midday wine tasting stop track back to the charming town of North East and enjoy a late lunch at Steak & Main. Take in some shops and end your wine travel day with a tasting at Turkey Point Vineyard's Tasting Room and Gift Shop on Main Street in the center of town. Make sure to get there by 5:30 at the latest because they close at 7 pm.
Travel Tips for this Itinerary:
-Both these wineries have different days/hours of operation they are both open Thursday through Monday.
-Dove Valley also hosts dinner theatre events and art classes be sure to check their events page.
-Rather exercise first? Take a hike to Turkey Point Lighthouse and earn your sip!
